The EXP2524 Express Storage Enclosure delivers SAS 6Gb/s disk storage technology in a compact, 2U, 19" rack mount enclosure connecting directly to select IBM System x servers using the IBM ServeRAID M5025 or M5120 SAS/SATA Controller. Storage capacity can be easily scaled by daisy-chain connection of multiple EXP2500 enclosures from a single ServeRAID controller port.
The EXP2524 comes with twenty-four drive bays for SFF 2.5" drives and it supports high-performance disk drives, high-capacity nearline disk drives, and flash (solid state) drives. Drives of the same form factor can be intermixed within the enclosure and can be intermixed within a daisy-chain configuration.
