American Power Conversion now offers the Symmetra: an advanced solution that offers both redundancy and hot-swapping capability, as well as other benefits: simplified management and enough scalability to grow with the needs of your business. The design of the Symmetra makes it possible to achieve N+1 redundancy, which is a configuration that includes one more power supply than is needed to support the full load. With N+1 redundancy, if any power supply fails, the remaining ones are still able to support the load. Because the Symmetra's intelligence module constantly distributes the load evenly among the active power supplies, when a failure occurs in one of them, the load is instantly and automatically redistributed among the power supplies that remain active.
Like the power modules, the Symmetra's battery modules are hot swappable and user-replaceable. Isolated from the heat-producing power modules, the batteries enjoy a stable lower temperature that maximizes their runtime and longevity. Battery frames which hold up to twelve additional battery modules are available as accessories to the Symmetra, and increase its scalability to the requirements of your business. APC's advanced engineering allows the Symmetra to recharge its batteries faster than competing power solutions. A PowerView display console is included with the Symmetra, giving you monitoring and control options in multiple languages. Remote monitoring and management can be performed over a network. PowerNet SNMP Manager software gives you extensive management options, and the system can be configured to automatically broadcast an alert when a failure occurs or when temperature or humidity levels rise outside the tolerance levels of the unit. An audible alarm sounds under certain critical conditions, such as when battery power is low, or there is an overvoltage.
